Greetings from Maine...

I'm here to learn, which shouldn't be too difficult, as I barely know anything yet. I enjoy sailing with friends but would really like to start learning HOW. Would love to meet other Mainers...

Peace!

I did a couple of classes at the wooden boat school in Brooklin maine. Highly recomend. Sailing, navigation, repair and lots of stuff. Check it out. I drove 15 hours to get there. Will do so again.

Hi Portland liveaboards! I'm Jenny and I am a student at the SALT Institute for documentary studies here in Portland. I also am a sailor and have cruised and lived aboard my Kendall 32' on the west and east coast and crewed on yachts for the last, well, 8 or so years. I am doing research for a possible story on liveaboards in Portland and am especially interested in the whole winterizing process. When I lived aboard in Jersey City, it became a very interesting process that wasnt quite finished until, um... the spring. I'd love to get in contact with those of you who live aboard full time- why you do it, how you do it, what is involved on a daily basis, and how you prepare for winter- you know, all those things non-cruisers/non-liveaboards ask you all the time.
If you have some time to talk, email me at jengosailing@yahoo.com. Thanks!!
