Hello from the (far) north east

Hi all,

I'm a grade 12 student sailing out of St. Margaret's Bay, Nova Scotia, just outside Halifax.

I've been racing and costal cruising most of my life, on father and uncle's boats, both C & C 37s (makes for some fun one-on-one racing). Last spring thanks to the current economic situation i was able to buy an 84 Kelt 7.6 for 8000 less than asking using half my own money and borrowing the rest from family. It is a fantastic all-around boat and i got a ton of use out of it over the last year. I have the boat pulled up on the beach in front of my parents house and will be spending the whole winter doing as much work as i can to it and getting ready for better racing and cruising next season.

Although i've come across this site from time to time while looking up information, i've never thought to join until now. I finally took the plunge and hope to pick up some tips for this winter's maintenance and improvments, as well as share my somewhat limited knowledge.

Hey Stephen...welcome aboard! Sweet that you have your own boat already!
I have several good NS sailor friends from around Dartmouth and Baddek who we met in the Bahamas and enjoyed the WARM water with. Maybe we'll see ya there someday!
