Fodder is on a distinguished road
Happy to be aboard!

Hello All,

First off, I have to say thanks to all those participating for making this forum one of the most truly useful I've ever used. The amount of information, interaction and comraderie is truly amazing. I've been lurking for a while now and have spent many, many hours reading through various threads - I may never have to buy another book! (OK, I'll still get my copy of Good Old Boat)

I just purchased my first 'big' boat after having sailed Lasers and Albacores growing up. I'm now the proud and happy owner of an Islander 28 lying in Georgian Bay. She's 30 years old and in great shape but just means she is now a 'cougar', doesn't it? I took possession of her just as she was being hauled out for the season so I have a whole winter of planning to do for next summer. I've got brightwork to polish, atomic 4 parts to replace, Solar panels to choose, mainsails to replace and sunsets to watch. I can't wait.

Looking forward to being a part of discussion and I hope I don't ask too many newbie questions. Don't worry, I'll search the forums first before asking one...
