Howdy from up north

Hello from Alpena,Michigan... We have aquired a 1970 cal21 from the local boy scouts. The boat was donated to the scouts were it sat for numerous years without anyone touching it. I seen it sitting in a vacant lot for 2 years. The second year of not seeing it move, I figured I would go and ask about it. The rest is pretty much history. Purchased the boat for 200.00 with 6 sails including the spinnaker. The boat doesn't leak and all the parts seem to be there. I was always fascinated with sailing but couldn't afford a sailboat because I thought that sailboats meant having to rent a slip and having a crane load and unload the boat. Now I'm learning differently. So here I am trying to soak up as much info as possible. But I find it really exciting and am looking forward to sailing the North channel some day. Thank you for listening and if I can help you let me know.

If it came with the trailer it's sitting on, and it moves, you've MADE money even if the boat don't float.

Oh, BTW, Welcome to the Asylum
