Greetings from Maine

We got over 10" of new snow last night - beautiful and very cold!
I am a woman with two pre-teen sons and married to a corporate guy who loves the farm so I am learning to sail pretty much on my own. I own a 1982 Pearson 26 and sail in Casco Bay, Maine, although I have taken ASA courses and chartered in the BVI's.

Winter is SO long here - every spring (this will be my third with Esmeralda) I feel I have to get used to her all over again - as well as the feel of the water.

But spring will come and I will be out there again

I'm looking forward to meeting lots of opther people who love the water with a passion - and learning what I can to make my own lessons easier!

Happy Boating

Welcome to Sailnet! You picked a good boat to lean on. A P26 is a very forgiving boat and should serve you well.

Hi Kelly,

Check out the Points East Web page and forum for close to home boating news. I post there under the same name.

Hi Kelly,
My wife Leslie and I sail out of Wells Harbor and we cruised Casco Bay last year. We totally loved it there, especially Great Diamond Island!

Is she at Brewers So Freeport? There is one there with a gray band around the cabin trunk though I forgot the name of it.. I saw two people there on Saturday morning flaking and putting the sails away, clean boat.. I work on a P-26 over at Centerboard YC, they are great little boats and there's a bunch on the bay..
