Introducing myself

Hello All,
Just registered.

I'm retired and am researching low-budget live aboard/cruising.

Don't own a boat yet so I'll be lurking and asking questions for a while.

Minimal sailing experience - crewed in 2 races, sailed a couple of small rentals and took a one day sailing lesson years ago.

Lifelong desire to go cruisin.

Seems like a pretty good crew on this site.

In the same boat:)

I just registered too. My life is also to go cruing with my wife. I was wondering if you knew how you can tell if the boat you can buy is for open water. Some say for coastal cruising, but my friend said those aren't for sailing around the world. How do you tell? Thanks
