AbaftandAbeam is on a distinguished road
Hello from NE Georgia . . .

Hello everyone. Thomas from Alpharetta, Georgia here. I just joined this group after several months of lurking but I have been learning a great deal from the various discussions that take place here.

I have a little bit of sailing experience and an insatiable appetite for sailing knowledge - I used to sail an O'Day Widgeon and recently bought a Cal 25 which is now on Lake Lanier, a man-made lake that is northeast of Atlanta. I just finished the ASA Basic Keelboat course and I'm planning on taking the ASA Coastal Cruising course next year. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to learning more about my boat (she's yet to be named!), sailing her in various conditions to gain experience, and meeting fellow sailors in the Lake Lanier area. (Anyone out there sailing on Lake Lanier?)

I'm also looking forward to learning more from everyone on these forums as I'm still a novice when it comes to handling and maintaining larger boats. I'm looking forward to making new friends here.

Other interests range from literature, science, history, writing and music to running and collecting old typewriters and stereos.

Regards,

Thomas
