Hello from Kansas

Hi there! My name is Mike. I grew up in Florida and Louisiana, but I've been stuck in Kansas for the past decade or so. I've always loved the water, but being in the middle of Kansas makes things like diving a challenge.
I'm a sailing novice. I've played around on a sailboard and an Aquaglide Multisport(and spent hours poring over sailing books), but never had a chance to take a boat out. The nearest lake with active sailing is Cheney. Unfortunately I missed out on the sailing classes for this year. My kids are chomping at the bit, too, so it looks like a nice hobby for us all.

I almost forgot to mention that if there is anyone from the area around Cheney who would be interested in helping a complete newbie learn the ropes on a Macgregor 22, I'd be very appreciative!
