Greetings
Hi everyone. I grew up sailing on my grandfather's Sabre 28, which we would sail on the Chesapeake Bay (Worton Creek - usually cruising, but we raced in a few Sabre only races - Oxford/Rock Hall, etc.) until I was about 15.
I'm 25 now and am looking to get back into sailing. Unfortunately, we had to sell the Sabre, but I have been doing some research regarding purchasing another boat. I'm looking at a much smaller size range (probably a dinghy), since I am rusty, have financial restrictions, and need to re-learn everything (I'm also going to take some classes).
My uncle has a 420 that he is willing to sell, but I have also been looking at Hobie Cats (mainly the 14 and 16) because I like the idea of having a little more room. Ultimately, I would like a boat that could accommodate 2 people to start out with, but also be sailed solo (are 420's difficult to sail solo?).
Well, glad to be here. Hopefully I'll learn a few things.
