Hello from the Inland Ocean

Ive been boat-less for a good while now, but today I bought "the" boat! I'll be working on her this winter and putting her in at Kentucky Lake next fall. Then down the Tenn Tom to Mobile and off....

Jeff:
Don't tease us, tell us more about "the boat", and what you will be working on over the winter.

Sorry about that. I was waxing poetic. She's a 1986 Pacific Seacraft 37. Regarding what I'll be working on over the winter:

Fix deck leaks (forward hatch and propane heater flue)
Clean up and paint bilge
Strip varnish off sole and re-do
Service manual windlass
Service all winches
Replace standing rigging
Clean and lemon oil interior teak
Re-do the cushions

That should do me over the winter. I may also have to either shim or replace the white oak compression post. Would appreciate input from anyone who's done it before. Thanks to this forum, I'm sure I'll end up with a real beauty!

Jeff

Which way will you turn when you get to the gulf?
A bit East and a Red Stripe could be your!

We'll play around in Kentucky lake for a couple of years to give my wife and I the needed experience. First trip will be across the panhandle, down the west coast of Florida over to Dry Tortugas. We're hoping to get this in before the grandkids get here! : )
