I just joined Sailnet

I just stumbled across Sailnet as i was searching for Caribbean charters and sailing distances. When I was 22 I sailed from Miami to St Lucia and made our way back to Miami via about 25 Caribbean Islands on a sail training vessel owned by S.A.L.T.S. (sail and life training society) out of Victoria British Columbia, Canada.

I am interested in taking my wife (who i met on the S.A.L.T.S. trip) and our two kids 8 & 5 to the B.V.I.'s. Any pointers.

There's frisky sailing in the winter months, and it eases as spring develops. Depends on what kid of sailingyou want to experience? The BVI is a great choice! Have fun with the family, and be safe......i2f

Which SALTS boat were you on? We watched the Pacific Swift being built at Expo 86, and often see her out on our travels in the summer.. as I recall the Robertson II (sadly recently lost) and the Chemainus were also part of the fleet.

btw highly recommend Caribbean sailing, esp if you can get away for the BC blahs around February/March.
