newbie and hubbie

HEllo,
My husband and I have a dream to live aboard a sail boat and when he retires in 4 years, we plan to take off across oceans and see the world. We have two kids and are currently in the market to buy our first sailboat. This is a great forum and I look forword to getting to be in the know about the sailing cmmunity and what we can excpect living aboard a boat, yes with kids!

Blessings,
Jill and Clay

Welcome to Sailnet... lots of good stuff here about sailing with kids, and plenty of people that strongly support and promote it.

How old are your kids now?

Welcome. This place is a good start to make that dream happen.

What kind of boats are you looking at?

Kids and Boat

My kids are 11 (boy) and 9 (Girl). They love the idea of living on a boat! We are currently looking at the Catilina 466. We would liek a boat with 3 berths. In Feb we are going to a boat show in San fran to see and visit other boats. In April we will find out where we will move to next. Then our plan is to sell our household stuff and buy a boat and move onto it. We are beginning sailors with little sail time, but that will soon change This is a wonderful forum full of great info!
I look forward to chatting with ya all
Jill
