Another OKC Sailor

Been lurking a while but just now figured out how to post. Lots of good information.

A Hobie 16 years ago was my first boat, but had to sell it when I moved. Recently got the sailing bug again and bought a Catalina Capri 16 and have it in a slip at Lake Hefner. Am in the process of repairing and upgrading it. The plan is to refresh/improve our sailing skills in a keel boat and move up in the next few years to something in the 30+ range.

One thing I've learned about Oklahoma: Lots of wind for sailing, but not a lot of information about sailing or sailing related vendors. Our lone West Marine in OKC recently went out of business. This is bass boat country!

What this means is that you have no choice but to do your own repairs and maintenance, but no one to learn from. Sail.net is a godsend!

Thanks in advance,
okieflyer
