Grew up near the sea doing everything but sailing (windsurfing, bad surfing, canoes/kayaks), moved inland and then to New Orleans. Been here a few years and then spent the summer getting around the world without flying, including a month aboard freighters -11 days Atlantic, 15 Pacific - recommend it once in a lifetime - and a week on trains across Siberia.
Got back to work in August and it took me until February to work out the feeling I was missing would only be fixed by getting on the water at weekends...time I learned to sail, as I don't like no power boats, and I can't afford a freighter. 
Looking to learn this spring and buy next year, spent a while enjoying this forum, very helpful comments here. Mulling over spending entire life savings on a Telstar 28, wonder whether anything cheaper has the same speed and room, but that can wait for another forum.
