We have admired your lovely vessel....
Hello Capt Griffiths. Welcome to the forum. We have enjoyed this communication for some time. It is full of interesting information and nice folks.
We also have a vessel at Oxford Boatyard and are always in awe of your beautiful vessel. Your bright work is just breathtaking and she is no small vessel to keep up. Our hats are off to you. Do you live aboard?
Over this winter our little boat has been in the shed for a refit at Oxford Boatyard. We have been treated well there and would recommend their services but are eager to get launched for 2010. We have also felt fortunate to have the boat, this past winter, in that shed. The snow, wind and spring floods have not been so easy this past year but for us, since we were inside, we had minimal worries.
I really enjoyed seeing the older pictures of Roselind. Do you have the dates they were taken? Also the picture of her sitting on her keel is wonderful. Must have been taken in the UK?? Does she sit squarely as the picture shows or is there a pole on her other side for support? My brother used to have a Meadowlark Ketch he would pull up on the beach to scrape and paint. Our vessel has a modified full keel but would never sit as your's, almost upright.
Have a wonderful sailing season. If you see us leave the shed, do drop by to say hello. I know there is the filth of 8 months of sanding and general dirt aboard Tango. I can't wait to start to address the grime so she can become more habitable. Good sailing!
