So I typed in "Lazy Jacks" and found this forum...!

Hi all,
At a glance this looks like a fun place to find parts and information as well as being a place to get to know sailors from...well everywhere.

I'm Ken, I own an old San Juan 7.7 up in Northern WA.

Basic sailing under the KISS system. Mostly day sailing with the occasional weekender but hoping to maybe do something longer.

I'm getting ready to get back in the water, some time in early May is the plan??? That's why I was looking at 'lazy jacks' Single handing can be a handful when you're singhanded. Got some good ideas for DIY.

One of the reason I'm waiting is, I want to do a paint job on it. A friend who builds boats has several gallons of Flag Blue he'll never use, so I offered to help him out if he'd spray for me...What a deal....:)

Anyway, I've raced a bit and done some chartering, so I know the pointy end from the place with the BBQ. Know what strings to pull and I always try to keep the mast pointing to the sky.

Ken

welcome aboard. if you got here by typing "lazy jacks" imagine where you would end up if you typed "ballcocks" with a space.
not that there is anything wrong with that.

Ta BLJ. First post already. Had to smile...well I laughed really.

Looking forward to meeting people and sailing vicariously with the more adventurous ones.

Ball cocks...Huh..!

There's a lot of us lazy jacks here, welcome to SN. Where in N. WA are you? Might see you out there sometime.

Didn't notice you were in the San Juans. What's your boat?
Used to have use of a Perry 1/4 tonner in Friday.

I'll have my boat in Utsalady Bay, top end of Camano "sometime in May". I keep it on a mooring there.

Fun sailing the islands with the wind or lack thereof, and the tides. I left (Had to.) Victoria for Roche Harbor at the wrong time. Sailing at 8 knots took me all day making 2.

Love to see you in the islands one day.

My hero..! Him and Diana Moonglampers.
"Welcome to the Monkey House" is a regular favourite. But "Slaughterhouse Five" is the best.
