A New sailor's questions

HI all
I am a new member here .Recently I found sailing is very interesting.So I decide to learn sailing .I have some questions following:
1.what steps should i do if i want to sailing?
2. These days I have go through many website to learn some knowledges about sailboats ,sail.But sometimes it is hard for me to understand ,who can give me more information about sail?
3.I want design my sails by myself,is there information about it?

You can learn to sail by study and practice, no other way. There are classes, check online and telephone listings. Ask around a marina or yacht club. Read books on basic sailing. There must be video instructions too.
As for sailmaking, there are several good books.The Sailmakers Apprentice by Emiliano Marino is a thorough text. Canoe Sails by Todd Bradshaw is a great book too. Sailrite is a company that sells kits, cloth, and instructions. Look them up. Have fun.
