Hello from a newby in the UK
Hi all,
Just to introduce myself, I'm a relatively new to sailing having started back in the 70's with the scouts (I'm 51 now) and only really started again after a weekend on an Oyster 49' last October. I did my Day Skipper in March and I'm hoping to progress to Yacht Master Coastal by this fall and then YM Offshore next spring, with the eventual aim of getting the YM Ocean certificate by the end of 2011. Longer term aspiration is a sabbatical to sail down to the Falkland Isalnds and back in 2014-15. Recent experience includes Oyser 49, Sigma 38, Dufour 365, Westerly Fulmar 32 and Etap 28i.
I've joined what appears to be a primarily US based site because I want to learn more about boats produced over there as it looks like I can get more for my money if I buy over there and sail her back here (looking for a bluewater liveaboard). Particularly interested in the S&S designs of the 80's around the 38'-45'.
