Gettin Close To Full Time

Been a reader for a while, now a member. Preparing for full time cruising - about 2 -3 years away. Been watching all the sailboat ads and doing the research for when it comes time to make the purchase. We want a 42 - 45 footer (don't mind an older model as long as there is a recorded history and it has been well cared for) with an aft stateroom with at least a queen. She must be built to cross the pond (no production models) and have the right nav gear. So far I've found a couple that will work but it is too soon to take the plunge. My favorite so far is an Irwin 43 CC.

In any case, I want to start asking questions on threads with some of the old salts who have been where I want to go. Good to be here.

Thanks. I read a lot of your blog and am very envious. its the journey - not the destination... right? I like 80/20 fun-to-sucks ratio rule. We will probably be more like 60/40 cause we're old enough to see much of the "sucks" turn into great memories. Appreciate the post and look forward to more of your blog.

Ha! I like that. And it is true, the sucks make great memories and stories. We just came out of a 2 week haul out with a surprise rudder repair which I'll write about soon.
