Arrow navigated into sailnet

Sailing lessons start for me JN 17,10.
I Will learn to sail on Keystone Lake, OK.
Yes, I am landlocked
but,
once upon a time did sail a 30' Wood Sloop Dickerson as first mate.
We sailed down to Key Largo from Miami, sailed Biscayne Bay, Cocoa and Titusville, while living aboard on the Miami River @ Cygnet Marina. We sailed day or night.

It has been a long time coming and soon the day will be here.
I have been on youtube watching and listening about points of sail and now understand the dynamics of why a sailboat can sail.

Our boat was very similar to this one that has 5 port lights and ours had 3.

Welcome aboard. I love those Dickersons. I have a larger wooden ketch now. If you want to sail, read, study, practice. And seek opportunities to go sailing. You'll make it work.

Thank You smackdaddy.

Wandering star you are from LI? I was born in Huntington. Where are you living, what town if I may ask. I also lived in Queens and Riverhead.

I grew up in Mount Sinai. I live in Rocky Point now. In between I lived in Sound Beach, Miller Place, Deer Park and North Babylon.

It's expensive and crowded, but surrounded by saltwater! How great is that? Did you sail when you lived here?

Saltwater that wonderful word, boy how I miss it. I didn't sail when I lived in NY on LI. Are you sailing there now.

Not right this second, but certainly this week. I have two daysailers on trailers (13' & 19') and a 39' ketch in the water. When I'm not working on them I like to sail them, or even just be aboard. Too long ashore and I get cranky. If you ever vist LI, let us know. Someone will get you on the water (I'm offering). We have a good group of Sailnetters here. I've had several aboard Wandering Star.

I was last on LI in 1999. Thank You for the sailing invitation, I would like that a lot.
