Ahoy... (was that too "salty"?)

Hi,
We are... Jason, Carren, Kaitlyn (Boo), Aidan (Aidy) and Nano (a Jack Russell) Blackwell.

I (Jas) was born and raised on the Chesapeake Bay. I have been on boats, both power and sail for... well most all of my life. I was taught on sailfishes and sunfishes and was lucky enough in my late teens and twenties to have some crew and tiller time on a variety of rigs from Hobies to cruisers upwards of 30' but my life took a different route and from my mid twenties till now I have been somewhat land locked. Oh I still went out on the family 13' and 18' Whaler's in the summer time but I have not been under sail for many many years now.
My "DREAM" is a cruising sloop or ketch in the 25' to 35' class. Large enough for my family to live aboard for a weekend or even a week, small enough for me to single hand. Large enough to make the crossing to Bermuda, small enough to home port at my property on Guarding Cove (and that is asking a lot as Guarding Cove is on average under 2' deep...).
My wife, Carren recently "poked my dream" by proposing we look for just such as sailing vessel as a way to commemorate my up and coming 50th B-day... (yuch).
Sooooo... here I am. Hello.

Thanx to all...

'Faster'... that there is no alternative makes it suck no less... (my inner skipper is VERY upset with the condition of his vessel)
