First Boat!

Hello!

I have just taken delivery of my first boat (although I have been sailing most of my life) it is a 1975 Easterly 30 from Compass Yachts and we are based in Melbourne.

Although in good condition it does need some cosmetic work and maintenance and the current version of the job list is:

Replace windows and frames
Remove old stripes and names and cut and polish topsides
Sand and varnish all internal and external wood
Fixup some botched gelcoat repairs (prev owner)
Rewiring (presently and oil soaked deathtrap)
New boat cushions

Have been following the forum for a while but will now doubt now be asking lots of questions!

Cheers,

Nick

Okay Nick,
Attempt 2

Congrats on the boat Compass are known to make some great sea kindly boats. Compass are the same guys that broguht us the 28/29 and rarer 38.

You will need to post some Pics to show our Northern Hemi neighbours of what a Aussie boat of the mid 70's looks like.

Where are you moored?

I have recently sailed on a Compass 38 AKA Pacific 38 and like the ride.

Ken

Pics

Thanks guys - we are very excited although thank god its winter here as the job list keeps growing!

We are members of Hobsons Bay Yacht Club in Williamstown in Melbourne and we have a mooring there, although she is laid up on the hard at the moment.

We have been too busy working on her to take any recent pics but will take some this weekend. I need another post before it will let me put up a pic.
Cheers,

Nick
