Sailor new to the Great Lakes.

Hi all,
I just moved here from Seattle after having to sell off all my boats !!
I am now in Manistee MI by Lake Michigan.
Sadly, in a house. My kids and I had lived aboard my 93 foot wooden ship and had several smaller boats. a 5.5 meter race boat that I really miss.
Cant afford any boat now. Have to love this economy.
I am a lic. Captain as well as yacht painter but, used to wood boats and there just doesnt seem to be any here.
Since all my friends back home were sailors and I met people through my boats I am really at a loss here now being boatless.
I sailed on large schooners and I really love Square riggers. Steam ships too.
Old sailing ships are pretty much my entire life, all I think about, read about, and love but will be awile before I can crew again as I have no family left and my youngest is 10. I do hope to sail a real sailing ship again some day.
god knows I will never be able to afford one again.
Andrea

Hi Tugboat Andrea! I was sorry to see you had to let Excaliber go, and I was wondering what had happened to you. hang in there.
