Now I'm only guessing here but I'd reckon that sailing a Soling on Lochgilphead would have to be a particularly pleasant experience.

No I don't live nearby, other side of the world in fact but West Scotland, Ireland and the West Coast of England is right up there on my list of places I'd like to sail.

What is it with me ? I live in Australia yet yearn for the likes of the American PNW, Scotland and the Biscay/Atlantic coast of Iberia.

Anywho...welcome to SailNet, enjoy.

Hi Guys,

thanks for the welcome. The scenery up here is stunning alright!
and once I'm feeling a little more confident/adventurous...
I have access to the open seas from here and so could well go island hoping to Jura and the other west coast islands!!!

TDW... whereabouts in Aus?
I visited the Whit sundays on holiday a few years back (WOW!!!) but I was only a passenger

Next time i'll be chartering a sail boat!
