Greetings from Reno, NV
I have been looking for some information about a very special, small sailboat. I hope someone on this site can help. My name is Robert, and many years ago my brother and I purchased a 10' plywood sailboat which was called a "Silver Tern". Now this was a long time ago, around 1958 or 1959. I know that some of you were not even a gleam in your parents eyes at that time, I am however hoping some one out there might remember those days. This boat was built in the Costa Mesa/ Newport area of Southern CA, and for some reason I think/thought the designer was W.D Schock. However I have contacted that company and many others in the area and have drawn a big blank. Anyone with a memory of a boat like that????? I have been engaged in sailing for many years and just recently completed a Weekender sail boat. A 16' gaff rigged plywood boat. I have also just finished a SOF, skin on frame kayak, 11' long. I am currently putting together a sail rig for the kayak. These sites are so compelling to join as the information and help from others who have the same interests is just absolutly great fun. Hope to hear from someone with a gleam of info. Thanks and take care Robert
