Smile Hi!

My boyfriend and I moved onto his 33-ft sailboat a month ago, and we are slowly making our way down south with an eye to making it to Martinique and thereabouts!

So far, it has been exciting, frustrating, serene, and comfortable. I never set foot on a sailboat before I met my boyfriend a few years ago, but I am certainly loving it! (And hating it at times--they don't kid when they say boats need lots of attention!)

Anyway, glad to be a member after reading from afar,
Jane

WELCOME,

You have probably noticed that boats are referred to in the SHE category. They need lots of attention. That's why we bring them small gifts all the time such as line, ground tackle, fresh oil, cleaning products, and the list goes on....KIDDING.

Like any relationship if it is not nurtured it seems to deteriorate. You both give her the attention she needs before she needs it, and she will take care of you in the worst of times. Sailing is of always a slick magazine cover, but the rewards bring you tons of pride. It won't be long, and you will find her communicating with you. She will tell you what she needs ( reduced sail, trim, more sail ), and you will hear this even in your sleep.

It reads to me that you are doing well, and by the time you reach bathing suit weather. You will most likely learn to love the lifestyle. BEST WISHES in your new vagabond life.........i2f

Welcome aboard.

You will find that sometimes it is also pretty uncomfortable and other times magically beautiful. But if you are liking the odds are that you will become addicted.

Regards

Paulo
