WTF is on a distinguished road
Hi

I guess I should introduce myself after causing a bit of a stir.

I live in Poole, learnt to sail at school, but as a youngster it just wasn't fast enough so paid it no more attention really. It came back to my thoughts many times over the years, there's something about being able to go places propelled by the wind, but despite living here I never really came across anyone that sailed. The articles and stories I stumbled across gave me the impression it was more for the wealthy I guess, so I never looked into it too hard.

I guess as I've got older speeds less of a attraction, speedboats and jetskis are fun, but the summer here is all too short.

About a month or two back, I don't even remember why I was looking now, but was searching on the Suez Canal, it brought up a sailing blog. The blog really grabbed my attention, after reading the Suez bit, I went back to the start and read it all, I was hooked by the end and off I went in search of more sailing material.

I don't know what will come of this, its early days really, I hope I'm sailing next year, we will see.

Funny thing about that blog, took a few weeks before I found out why it stopped so abruptly, it was Paul and Rachel Chandler.

I appreciate you bringing it to my attention because otherwise I am not sure I would have researched it... so thank you for that.

Welcome aboard here. It is a good place. Lots of good people.

Must say, you definitely came on board with a bang... and an appropriate online name to boot
