watching winds and weather

Hello back, and thanks. Watching weather carefully as always, though not as predictable as LI Sound. Sailing C&C 40. thankfully have a good crew and golf clubs aboard...

LOL, never thought of sailing with golf clubs. Are they to keep the crew in line? Have a great trip.

Well, they could keep the crew in line... but I prefer to use them to measure the rum line... excuse me, that should be 'rhumb line'. On a more serious note, planning to enter Pamlico Sound but am somewhat concerned over the shallow waters. Have you ever sailed down thataway...? Oh yeah workin' on my Suthenisms along the way... hope it helps???

No, I haven't. Twice in the ICW northbound, once went outside at Cape Fear, the other went out from Charleston. The boats drew 5'6" and 6'. Both times we touched bottom in places but never stuck. Both were during easterly gales, possibly giving us extra depth. There is a free website called ActiveCaptain, the authors are going south now. You might also post in "Cruising" and "Destinations" sections of this forum.
I sailed in the LI Sound today. Beautiful, though getting cool.
