New Kid on the Block Here

Running a Pace Ship PY23 out of Halifax, Nova Scotia way up in Canada. Not a blue blazer yacht club type of guy but someone who likes some weekend time on the water with the wife and dreams of setting course due east and seeing where we end up.
It's funny how that urge to wander gets to you when you are still wet behind the ears and then again when you get closer to retirement from the 9 to 5 grind.
I've found lots of informational stuff in the forum and now I can hopefully contribute my two cents in from time to time.

hello Ed,

good to see another Nova Scotian on the site. me and my wife are from Bridgewater and have been looking for a sailboat for the last two years, cant seem to find one that we can agree on and now have to wait as my wife recently changed jobs and want to hold off big purchases for a while. we looked at a Pace Ship PY23 in St Margarets Bay very nice boats, a couple Tanzers 22............ oh I lost track how many others.

I'm hoping to get on the water this summer.

anyway welcome to sailnet, a lot of great people here very helpful and informative, i know I've learned a lot lately

Welcome Capt. Ed...Lots of great history out of Halifax,
sailing and otherwise.
Err...due east of Halifax puts you pretty much in
Bordeaux, France you could do worse!

Ahoy Capt. Ed.......If, instead of heading due east, you want to head up here to the west'd, you could put in for a spell in Gloucester where you'll find plenty of us with Novie ancestors. We have an abundance of good places that don't require blue blazers, and we don't mind showing them off.

I have to say we are in respectful awe of how your province is restoring Bluenose II. You have your priorities in order. Here in the USA we can't seem to raise 2 cents in support of our historic sailing vessels. We'll be looking for her next September at the Gloucester Schooner Festival.

Never sail closer to the wind in degrees than your age
