flo617 is on a distinguished road
Hello, I sail in SF

Hi everyone,

My name is Florent and I currently live in the San Francisco bay area.

Before moving to California I used to sail with Community Boating in Boston, MA

I have a small laser one that I have been sailing since the end of summer 2010 and I've had a blast with it cruising around especially during fleet week (so so many boats out there! great wind and great show too...)

I am also looking to purchase a used sailboat. 29 feet seems to be the ideal size for me so far (small enough to single hand easily yet big enough to spend the week-end in comfort. I am looking for something sturdy and seaworthy with good sailing characteristics above all (that does not mean it has to be a rocket just not an ass).

Any help is always welcome

Thanks for reading this and see you out there some day maybe!

Florent

Hey flo, welcome to SN dude.

There's tons of info on here - as well as many, many salts that will talk you through just about anything.

While you're waiting for some responses you can start poking around in this thread: The Salt's Corner Table

It's a thread with some of the best info to some of the most asked questions around here - including yours. And you can see who some of the go-to guys are.

Enjoy.
