Cheers from SF
Been cruising these forums for a while now and have gotten lots of helpful info here from all the knowledgeable people here. Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.
My name is Patrik, born in Prague, Czech Republic but have lived most of my life in San Francisco, and Bay area. I've been an avid surfer since I was a little kid back in the mid 80's and have had great love for the ocean all my life. I've taken many surf trips to many far off destinations and spent some time on charter boats. Always loved being on boats but never thought I'd be able to afford my own.
Finally took the plunge a few years back and picked up a fixer upper. Thousands of dollars later I've reaffirmed my inital suspicion, "I cant afford a boat" Haha. Actually with lots of hard work and time I've gotten my little girl into pretty decent shape and have put in lots of time with her out on the water. She's a '77 Catalina 27.
Hope to one day upgrade and cruise to some far off exotic surf spots. Warm water of course, the bay waters can be a bit chilly. For now, San Francisco is an amazing place to sail, loving every minute of it.
So, cheers from SF.
