Newbie 2 (Illusive)
We are sailing people, sure, but haven't been on our own boat ( 30' Catalina tall mast) for 3 seasons. We had some personal issues with aging parents etc, so had to keep her out of the water. We are looking forward to getting some tips on some things we need to do to get her launched either this season or next.
We sail most of the time on the Mississippi's beautiful Lake Pepin. From Red Wing to Wabasha, Minnesota. Have typically kept her at Pepin Marina, on the Wisconsin side. Love to sail in Lake Superior, Apostle Islands, and sometimes Lake Waconia and Lake Minnetonka crewing for a race fleet. Cruising is our pleasure as a couple though. I'll bet you all have heard that before.:o
We have bottom work to do, totally clean inside ( had some water over the season), and stuffing box issue. There are others certainly, but we want to stay positive ! Good to be here fellow sailors all !
I had a similar problem with my previous boat though it was bought on more by financial problems. Now that we are back on the water all I can do is regret those lost years but you cannot get them back so get into it and get back out there.

I love your quote on the dog read .. we love our Shih Zhu name Buster, and he loves to sail.
We are really looking forward to it ..sailing , and hope to enlist a little help to get her sea ready from our friends !
Any one with suggestions on stuffing box please advise.
