Chris, from Long Island NY

Hello everybody, I'm Chris. Excited to utilize the experiences and resources of everyone here.

I grew up sailing small boats (mostly cats) with my father. Now a young adult my passion for sailing has lead me to the dream of traveling the world in search of waves to surf, my other passion. I bought a Hurley 20 to begin my experiences living aboard and plan to make small voyages to nearby destinations (Montauk, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket etc.) as a way to develop my skill on the open sea.

Look for my user name to pop up a lot. I plan on asking every question I have. I'm eager to learn and excited to sail. I bought the boat only a week ago, and due to lack of funds had the boat placed in the water in Bayport, the very town I bought it, and sailed it to Massapequa (approx. 20nm). Took me 4 hours and only stoked the fire inside even more. Cheers.

Excellent, makes me smile. Welcome aboard. My first keelboat was a 20' sloop, bought in Smithtown, sailed out of West Babylon and Lindenhhurst year round. I was just this morning reading log entries from winter sails in the early 90's. I now sail a bigger boat out of Mt Sinai. See you round.
