Are you near Perth Amboy? RYC RYC has races Weds. night at 6 or 6:30. If you showed up early and dressed and looked the part (canvas bag, gloves, foulies, boat shoes, hat, smile etc) you might be able to crew with someone.
The same could be said for most clubs that have 'informal' Weds. racing programs.
If you are in northern Jersey this club may be closer: Nyack Boat Club
Southern Jersey has the Delaware Bay/River where there must be a few clubs.
