Now in Chesapeake Bay are, have been sailing in Baltic Bay

Hi,

We (My wife and me) have been sailing in Germany for 7 years, on the Elbe river and on Baltic Bay between Germany and Denmark. We had a Maxi 77 and now we are looking for a boat below $20K to sail on Chesapeake Bay. We are collecting information and latest 2012 we would like to sail on our own boat on the Bay. I have some questions and it is great if you could give me some ideas. I appreciate your help!

Is it possible to get a reliable boat for up to 20K in bay area?
Which are the best boats on this area in this class?
What are the annual costs for such a boat?
I have heard about luxury tax! Does it exist really? even for a 20 K boat?
