Buenas! first-time boat owner

Hi everyone, just yesterday I bought my first ever boat of any kind, '72 Cat 22. Just signed up here and I've only taken a couple sailing classes so I'm looking forward to absorbing as much as I can.

Although the hull has no name the last owner compiled a log book that includes the original tips and owners manuals and even the factory sales pamphlet, kinda cool. A little sticker inside said she is named 'beyond infinity.'

She is fitted with a roller furler, new cd player and marine speakers, working lights and such, an unused (literally never fired) dickinson rail bbq, new outboard bracket and tohatsu 9.9 horse, and an aftermarket pedestal steerin kit which is great. Most all else is stock and in fair shape for 39 years.

Even though I was motoring, ans the sun was going down, I still had to take advantage of my maiden voyage after signing the paperwork. 4/26/11 in Kirkland, WA.

Sweet picture, thanks.
Welcome aboard. Learning to sail is thrilling and sometimes frustrating. But it will improve your life. Be careful, study and practice.

20 MPH ain't fast unless, you do it in a 1000sq 3/2 house on 10foot waves

Thank you! I'm looking forward to my first season. He most important thing for me was to buy a turn-key boat that passes all safety and reliability checks, as well as not invest too heavily for my first ownership. I was successful with this particular boat after a couple months search and moorage is very fair.

All I need is some time from work and some of that elusive springtime Seattle sunshine.

Sounds like a nice started boat. Check the weather and get our there. The first time I ever sailed was the first time I ever hanked on a sail on ly Lancer 25. Lots of . . . . adventures later, (just two years worth) and we're still going strong. Just do it!

Fair Winds,

Don
