Hello from Southern California

Greetings,

I'm finally getting around to posting this. I just recently purchased a 1976 Islander 36. It is a pretty clean boat but needs the typical repair and replacement that a boat that age would need.

I've been sailing for about 6 years (mostly lake and SF bay). More recently, I have been sailing out of the Long Beach, CA area.

My wife and kids love it and we will be spending more time on the water once I get a handful of things repaired on our boat.

Welcome aboard. The wife and I sail out of San Pedro harbor. Glad to see it warm and windy enough for a good sail here! Have you been to Catalina yet this year?

Not yet. I moved the boat from Newport Beach to Wilmington a few weeks back and have been just working on the boat. Our plan is to keep it in Wilmington for probably 6-8 months and then move it to Shoreline in Long Beach. I probably have another month or so of work and then we are heading over to Catalina. My friend does harbor patrol over there and they have gotten nailed pretty good a couple times in the last 6-8 weeks with weather. Sounds like it has been pretty calm over there lately.

We sailed out there back on the weekend of 4/17 and had good weather. Things have been rougher these past few weekends.

We're down in Wilmington at Newmark's Yacht Centre, so maybe we'll pas each other at some point.
