Bill!
Welcome to the Dark Side. Sailing is not a hobby or a sport. It's an affliction, a disease. You buy a boat and it posses you and, like a body snatcher, slowly changes your personality to it's own. It sucks the life out of your wallet. Time condenses around it. Reality bends to it's will. Yeah, it's GREAT!
We bought our Lancer 25 two years ago. Never sailed. No clue about sailboats. Thought a clew was something that you hoped your kids would get and a Cunningham meant Richie or Mrs C. Ends up we got the perfect boat for us. Sleeps 5, sails reasonably well. Trailerable. We spend most weekends on the water, gunkholed in some remote (yeah right!) bay. No regrets except not starting sooner in life. SO, just do it. Buy the boat and sail. You won't regret it!
