Quick Newbie Intro

Hi all!

My goal is to be living aboard by end of 2012 and to that end I'm jumping in with both feet into the research. At this point I've only raced/sailed small boats on bays/rivers but living aboard is something I've wanted to do for years.

My initial plan was long-term and to buy a 40ish footer fit for RTWs. It was a very intimidating goal not only financially but also knowledge-wise as I have no blue water experience.

In the last few days I decided that goal was lovely but I needed a short-term goal so I've decided to set my sights on a 28ish footer that I can do coastal cruising on and live aboard while traveling up and down N and S America. After a couple years of that I should be ready to graduate to a big-girl boat.

Looking forward to learning a lot since I'm basically starting from scratch and especially interested in learning from/connecting with other female sailors as I have some concerns about being a solo-female.

Looking forward to digging in and getting to know everyone!

Hey, I'm a newbie too. Let me know what what kind of boats you're checking out. I'm in the market for about the same. Good luck with your plans
