No boat, no experience, no water - but BIG dreams!
Saw this subject, and figured I'd just throw my thread out there in the water (pun perhaps intended  ). I'm strictly on dirt at the moment. Have taken many vacations near and on the water. There is just something about the water, it soothes and relaxes me. Calls me in a way that I can't just describe (maybe if I'd graduated with an English degree instead of a Math degree I could use better words to describe it ).
Anyways, my kids are heading off to college or will head off in the next year or so (2 kids). I'm jealous that one of my kids is on his way to a college in Annapolis. The energy around a town on the water is just different! Once the empty nest is complete, I intend to really start to kick my plan into high gear. I want to simplify my life, and in the process start living life! I think we get too caught up in maintaining our lives instead of living them. I want to live, so the water is where I want to be. Now this will be a long plan, so you will probably see and hear more from me on these forums then you want (why can't this guy shut up and just get out on the water already - will be heard I'm sure ).
From the little I've read and heard though I anxiously wait my opportunity to join the sailing community!
