Hello! I'm new here!

Hello everyone in SailNet!

My name is Polly ... I'm a marine artist living in Southeastern Connecticut.

I was delighted to discover SailNet this morning while doing a google search on the location of running lights for sailboats and was happy to see this nice sailing community online. I myself, have not sailed in a long while nor do I own a sailboat, but I do enjoy sailboats!

Though, I really enjoy watching sailboats 'from afar' through my binoculars, (hence my username) which has become a tool with my art ...

Anyhoo ... I'm bascially here to learn, observe, keep my shippy knowledge up-to-date and keep SailNet as a reference point for my art, and for the accuracy regarding the anatomy of sailboats.

Well, that's a little about me, I look forward to getting to know you all and of hearing about all your sailing adventures from around the World!

Cheers, ~ Polly ~

Welcome aboard....

You know some people might call that being a peeping-tom :laugher

But welcome aboard from a dirt-dweller that wishes he were sailing!

With the market the way it is, you should think about buying one and sailing her. Think about how that might help your perspective. Paint from the perspective of the sailor and not the observer.

HA! Very true and very clever! .... but no, peeping tom activites for me ... it's rare when I put people into my work ... though recently I've been adding people for fun!! :)

Thanks guys for the welcome ... and it's always a good sign when the Super Mod says Hi first! :)

Cheers!

ps: Hm? I must say the selection of smilie icons is ... um? rather ... interesting. :D
