Getting started in Kentucky

Hi, My family and I live near Georgetown, KY. I'm looking for a boat to learn to sail in. If that goes well we will probably look for a trailerable boat in 25-30 ft range. Right now I'm considering a 14ft Rhodes Bantam, but it I'll wind up with whatever I can find inexpensively that seems fairly stable. By the way, I notice Sailingdog has a post that they tell new people to read, but being new I can't use the link. Seems less than useful.
