Soon to be liveaboards

Hi all,
My wife and I are planning on living on a boat in the next two years. We have a trip planned in Jan. to the USVI to check out boats and the area. If somebody is going to be around at that time, we would love to meet with you and get some pointers. We are new to sailing and have some ASA classes on the schedule but want to learn as much as we can about the lifestyle.

We currently live in Missouri and are not looking forward to another -15 below winter with snow up to our knees... All we think about is blue water, sunsets, and how to get there faster, but we are trying to do it the smart way and be prepared.

We are hard working people in search of a simpler life, in our mid 30's without kids and would love the chance to hear about your life and adventures.

Hi Brian and Tanya,

I am brand new to this site, and have a Ranger 26 that I live aboard all summer long up in Duluth, Minn. I love sailing around the Apostle Islands (north coast of Wisc, 22 islands, with only 1 with people on it). I just semi-retired to San Antonio, and will probably be living aboard in the next year or two. I used to teach at Missouri State in Springfield, Mo.

Sounds like you two are getting ready for a great adventure. I'd love to hear how it goes, and I myself plan on sailing in BVI are at some point.

Hey Greg,
How are you liking San Antonio? I don't think I could do the cold winters of Minn...Missouri is as far north as I want to go!!
