I've done a little posting and lurking but thought I would say hi.
I just started sailing this summer. I found a deal on a 8' Ranger sailing dinghy. Got bored of it pretty quick and there wasn't enough room for more than me and the dog.
I sold the Ranger and bought a Cal21, Makai, the same day. Been sailing nearly every day since. I'm lucky enough to live on a lake here in Wa and the swing keel let's me pull right up to the dock.
I'm having alot of fun and have only scared myself a couple times. :)
I am trying to work up the courage to take her out on the Puget Sound. I'm sailing single handed and learning by hard knocks...but hopefully not knock downs. :)
Welcome! Sounds like you're doing it right. When you take on bigger water just be careful. You never stop learning to sail.
