So I'm Ryan, I've been sailing since I was 8, I'm an instructor at community boating center, and technically the classical sailing team coach.

To keep this short, I recently bought a 1973 force 5, waiting on a few parts from weeks to give it a thorough test out of newport. I love racing and pushing myself and crew to the limit. Multiple times I've sailed the clubs hunter 216s about 14 miles out in conditions from 12 knots to 25 knot winds with 4 foot waves. Same has been done in performance boats such as the laser 2, our current record being 24 miles in 4 hours.
I also have my us sailing level 1 certification, and I'm a starting skipper for my school.

I am not much for giving advice, but I think you could benefit from lurking here for a while before you post your CV and invite us to ask you questions. Some of us may have been sailing since before your parents were born.

I'm currently in rhode island (east coast), usually sail out of providence harbor. But I plan to start sailing out of oakland beach and fort adams more frequently since I have my own boat now.
