Hi everyone, I am Chris and I started sailing in 2009 but only got back into it this year. I recently took a 5 day course to get my PCOC (which i now have) with a local sailing school. I am thinking about living about a boat since 2008, but have yet to actually try it out. But I am in contact with someone who will, hopefully, let me boat sit their sailboat for the month of November. I am also looking at boat listings for a live-aboard, but I am not planning on buying one until the new year.

Hope your live aboard situation works out.

The thought of living aboard going into winter in Canada sounded pretty hardcore for a first experience... but then I checked the average temperatures for Nov in Victoria... 5-9 degrees Celcius. Doesn't sound so bad.

I think overall I am going to like the experience just the only thing I am wondering about is the types of maintenance required to keep her in peek condition (daily, weekly, monthly.. and so on).
I am also considering acquiring a project boat and then fixing her up instead of spending several thousand on a well maintained boat.
