The name is RD and I was born/raised in Johnson City, TN. I've currently been living the last few years in Metro-Detroit, which I have to admit, the city and I don't get along to well, on a couple of different levels. The mountain's may be in my heart but I think I've got saltwater in my veins. I'm 30 years old, a self employed writer who enjoys reading, movies, hiking, camping, fishing, etc. I'll try anything once pretty much. But I am here in hopes of finding friends or like minded people who can help me learn how to sail or maybe pick me up as a crew mate or passenger. I work hard and Im a fast learner. I'm a people person and I love to laugh and cut up. I can be serious when needed tho.

Hi RD,
I'm getting ready to set sail from Dominion Republic (Puerto Plata) to Trinidad, approx 7 - 10 days (island hopping), on my Frers 72' ketch and am having trouble finding crew to assist.
I was just going to go single handed but having no auto pilot will make it a chore instead of pleasure, but, I will do it if required.
I live in Louisiana and did have a house up in NC (Murphy), I also enjoy the Mountains and the trout fishing, but, the sea has always been part of my life after having worked offshore for 36 years it tends to become "home".
My wife isnt into sailing, but doesnt mind meeting me when I dock the boat.
So, time line I would prefer is departing just after Xmas and getting back to the States before New Year.

I would love to find out more information right now --- I eventually want to sail the caribbean but im still in the middle of my passport process. I am looking to help with anything we can as long as I don't need to have a passport as of right now, I pretty much have free time..
