Back On The Water
Hi Everyone!
I am just returning to the sea after 10+ years away, although I live right next to it. I am located in Southern California (San Diego), and have owned several sailboats, lived aboard twice for a year at a time (in San Diego and Ventura), and just bought a beautiful O'Day 32' aft cabin a few months ago. It was great to get back out on the water and know that my skills and love of sailing are intact. :-)
I am going to move her up to Ventura as soon as I can (just up the coast a bit for those of you not in the area), but I am really needing a competent and experienced sailor to go with me. I want to SAIL up, not just motor and harbor-hop. This time of year, it's cold (not really, but for us...) and weather can be dicey, but I want to sail out around the Channel Islands and then in to Ventura. If anyone knows a person who could fill the bill, by all means, refer them to me. I don't trust my navigational abilities like I used to and so I would require that they have a firm grip on navigation and not just operating a GPS, which I can do.
I am moving her there because the sailing is so much better there (there are places to go and wind to go there) and to work in my branch office a day a week. I can stay aboard when I go up, so it will help with my liveaboard jones. :-)
I'm happy to be part of the sailing community again and welcome any feedback that you all might have.
Fair Winds,
Tania Davidson
