Searching Charleston

Learned to sail in the Beaufort, NC area on opti's when I was a kid. Lived on Wrightsville Beach and putzed around on OPB's mainly racing dingy's (420s). I moved to Charleston about 2 years ago and I've been sailing in the CORA races on wednesday nights on my friend's 26 Ericson. He is in the process of selling and so here I am looking for a bit more insight into owning a pocket cruiser/day sailer/racer...

I'd love to find some folk who need a wench monkey or someone to sit the highside so I can get a bit more experience on larger displacement boats...still not completely used to the 10k lb displacement with a 25HP diesel (I grew up with outbaord center consol powerboats).

Presently, lightly in the market for a 1970-1980 30-35' no-frills boat. I am willing to try my hand at doing some fixing up on my own (and dropping a little coin on things I know I can't fix).

Any help/advice on any front would be greatly appreciated. Happy holidays, fair winds and calm seas!!

Crisp
