Hello new sailors and old!!!

Hi to all!
I started this adventure a year ago at age 55 and wish I started at 25 because the learning curve just in nautical terms alone will take at least the rest of my life...Having said that I must say I am completely addicted to this sport!!!! Grateful as well for I suffer with terrible depression and it only gets worse when I cant sail.My long term goal is to sail Abby Cat to the Bahama's and sail full time off the coast of Trinidad. This is just the final phase of my bucket list but wish it was the beginning. I would love to hear from anybody in the same bucket as me so we can commiserate.
Regards,
Todd

Welcome to Sailnet (again), Todd!

Even if you'd started at 25, you wouldn't stop learning (or shouldn't) about sailing. There is always something new to learn. True, you wouldn't be as old when you reached each sailing milestone but, meh. At least you started.

55 is the new 35 so you're still on your Wish List, not your Bucket List.

Donna

THANKS FOR THE REPLY Donna,
Just to let you know learning isn't the issue its the becoming of a sailor that takes the years that I don't have.55 maybe the new 35 if you are in good health to begin with.If I make 60 Ill be very fortunate indeed... So long term is next year for me.It probably should be for everyone for no one has a guarantee of time.
Regards,
Todd
